Norfolk Property Developer Brothers Choose QETTLE
Norfolk property developer brothers Howard and Ash recently renovated a pair of old farm workers’ brick and flint cottages in Ingham, a picturesque village close to the Norfolk Broads. They transformed the cottages into one, four-bedroom property (watch their progress on the BBC’s Homes under the Hammer) and chose a gold-finished QETTLE Original for the house’s new, family-focused, open plan kitchen and living space. Just a bit of an improvement on the original bibcock pillar taps!
Howard told us they wanted to create a country style kitchen with a modern twist – and the cottage’s gold-finished QETTLE Original – which dispenses true, 100°C boiling water, filtered drinking water, plus normal hot and cold flows – certainly ticks both the functionality and fashion boxes. Howard says the tap’s bright, eye-catching finish also complemented the kitchen cabinetry’s hardware – literally adding the Midas touch.
The cottage, which is currently on the market with Brown & Co, is a superb example of an imaginative, yet sympathetic renovation. It is wonderfully appointed for rural family living, and Howard and his brother have really embraced the ethos of the kitchen being the heart of the home. A roomy extension with two sets of bifold doors has created a light-filled kitchen and living space. The subtle gold accents throughout – including from the QETTLE Original tap – elevate a neutral, calming palette and the warmth of the cottage’s original brickwork.
Howard comments, ‘A boiling water tap has become a real kitchen must-have, and we were very pleased to be able to specify such a well-designed, 100°C product from a local manufacturer. For anyone like me with a serious coffee habit, they’re indispensable!’
